Pretty Mid Century earrings, each with two glowing Mikimoto pearls nestled within a curling leaf of sterling silver. These earrings are screw backs, easy to wear whether or not your ears are pierced. The screws bear the Mikimoto maker's mark. Romantic jewels that will make lovely bridal earrings. Circa 1950.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.

Details.....The earrings measure 0.45" by 0.58", and the pearls are 6.2mm in diameter. In Very Good Vintage condition. You should expect all vintage and antique jewels to show some wear; we consider it part of their charm.
